Nothing To Lose
Directed by Steve Oedekerk
Starring Martin Lawrence, Tim Robbins, John C. McGinley, Giancarlo Esposito, Kelly Preston
Tim Robbins plays an executive man
Whose life could not be more great.
He has a loving wife and a high-paying job,
And a boss that he likes and not hates,
But one day he thinks that his wife and his boss
Are having a torrid affair.
He gets in his car and quickly drives off,
After running a hand through his hair.
He drives with no real destination in mind
And ends up in a rough-looking ghetto.
He meets a black man who tries to rob him blind,
The Pinocchio to his Geppetto.
“Did you ever pick,” he says to the man,
“The wrong guy on the wrong day.”
Then he proceeds to floor the gas,
And the car goes speeding away.
This scares the bejeezus out of the man
Who had just tried to hijack his car.
The man passes out and awakens
In a State in the desert quite far.
They go on a series of adventures,
And they get into plenty of trouble.
The exec decides to rob his boss,
And in revenge he will pay him back double.
Tim Robbins from Shawshank plays the exec,
The black robber by Martin Lawrence.
Gus from Breaking Bad and Dr. Cox from Scrubs
Play the murderous antagonists.
By the end of the film, all problems are solved.
Both the executive and the robber are friends.
The bad guys are arrested and sent to jail,
And the movie happily ends.
The script was well-written,
The actors well paired,
And none could fault the direction.
I’ll give it a 4.5 out of 6.
It had the perfect comedic inflection.
