Rating: ******
              3/6

There are seven Lucky Stars films,
But only three with Jackie Chan.
Sammo Hung appears in all but one,
And they won’t make another again.

Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars
Is the third film in the series.
We see Jackie, Sammo and Yuen Biao
Fighting like three male Furies.

Like the last film,
Both the Lucky Stars
And the policemen
Have separate arcs,

Paths that slowly merge together,
As the plot unfolds.
By the movie’s climax,
They’re entwined and fighting gold.

The three fighting policemen
Are played by Jackie and Biao,
Along with newcomer Any Lau,
Who’s an acrobatic fighter, too.

We first see them in a warehouse,
Where they get to fight some thugs.
They give them all a beating,
Because they’ve been dealing drugs.

A cameo by Melvin Wong.

The Lucky Stars, meanwhile,
Are helping the police
They’re safeguarding a woman
From assassins, for the Chief.

They get into silly situations
With their great comedic timing,
But since they are lowlifes,
All their heroics they’ve been miming.

Jackie Chan hurt his shoulder, for real.

Richard Norton joins the fight.
He’s bigger, stronger, bolder.
He would have fought with Jackie Chan
If he had not injured his shoulder.

Sammo has to take his place
In the quite thrilling climax.
He fights with tennis racquets,
And uses each one like an axe.

In the end, the day is saved.
The Lucky Stars have done it again,
Though this time around they weren’t quite as good,
So I’ll give it a five out of ten.

Richard Norton gets angry.
