This later Arnie vehicle
Is based on true events
That began back in 2002
With an accident immense.

A midair collision
With a large cargo plane
And a rapidly approaching
Passenger plane

Lit up the skies
Over Germany.
Many folks lost
Their families,

Including a Russian man
Named Vitaly.
This event shook him
Quite abruptly.

His wife and daughters
Were on that aircraft.
Now he could only
Remember them laugh.

An airline controller
Made a mistake
While his coworker took
A coffee break.

The phone lines were down,
So he was distracted,
And as a result
Two aircraft impacted.

Vitaly spent a year
And grieved
Until he decided
To do a misdeed.

He tracked down the man
Who had made the error,
And perforated him
To allow in more air.

The story is
An interesting one.
Would the filmmakers
Make their film a good one?

Arnie plays Roman,
Based on Vitaly’s character.
He works in construction
While his family travels by air.

He goes to the airport
To greet them cheerily,
Only to discover
Something eerie.

He’s told in private
That his kin
Are outside of the plane,
Not in,

And the plane itself
Has fallen down,
And is strewn elsewhere
On the ground.
Roman lets it sink
Into his head
And wakes up in
A hospital bed.

A few days later
He takes a drive
All the way
To the wreckage site.

He volunteers
To help collect
The passengers’ personal
Objects.

This he does
Until he finds
His daughter’s necklace
Just in time

To lead him to
Her intact corpse.
He then has a breakdown,
Of course.

This interesting story
Is not very well told.
The pacing is lethargic,
The direction cold.

The acting is good,
Especially Arnie’s,
But we’re used to seeing him
As a one-man army.

In straight drama,
Though he’s very good,
We’re not getting the adrenaline
We feel we should.

It’s a movie you can
Entirely skip.
You won’t be missing
The drama one bit.

This should have been better,
But it is what it is.
It gets a three
Out of six.
