“I only want peace.”

In Guardians, we were introduced to Thanos,
A big purple man with enormous strength.
He’s a tyrant, nearly invincible, mad,
And for his plans he’ll go to any length.

Well, we meet him again in this epic film.
He’s searching for all the Infinity Stones.
If he collects them all, he’ll be granted a wish:
After which he will feel very alone.

He wants to kill 50% of the people
In the entire universe because he’s sad
That sometimes people have to go hungry.
His solution will surely help the survivors a tad.

Thanos is the stepfather of Gamora,
Who is currently living with her pals,
The Guardians of the Galaxy,
A bunch of petty ne’er do wells.

Excepting, of course, when they save a world,
Or a galaxy, or two.
They’re a bunch of silly misfits
Making up a stellar crew.

Well, Thanos needs Gamora,
But he has to contend
With the fact that his stepdaughters
Wish to cause his end.

“One more step and the spider gets it.”

In addition, there are others
Who want to see him bleed,
Especially the Avengers
For his many evil misdeeds.

They meet him in this movie
On his first voyage to Earth.
He causes complications,
And mocks them with his mirth.

No one man can stop him.
No ten people can stop him.
All the Avengers put together
Still can’t seem to stop him.

He collects stone after stone,
Leaving ruin in his wake.
He has toppled civilizations.
The whole universe is at stake.

Various teams and characters
From the other MCU movies
Finally get to meet one-another,
In this get-together movie,

“My kingdom for a hamburger.”

But even that doesn’t seem to help them.
Are they destined to be lost?
Can anyone, anywhere, figure out
How to save their cause?

I’m giving this six stars,
As the story’s really good.
It sets the mood and attitude
For the last film, as it should.
