Blade Runner 2049

(2017)

Directed by Denis Villeneuve

Starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas
Rating: ******
              5.6/6

Ryan gosling plays an android,
Emotionless and matter-of-fact.
He’s a cop who goes out and does his job,
And never fails to come back.

Every day he’s given a test,
A mandatory one he can’t skip.
The authorities have the need to know
Whether his emotions might slip.

He’s told to recite a poem over and over,
In the same voice and same tone.
If any emotion is detected,
Into the trash bin he’ll be thrown.
Everything is going fine in his life
Until he starts having weird dreams.
For the first time he suspects that he might have been born,
That he might be more human than he seems.

Now he starts getting emotional,
As he tries to figure this out.
He even meets Deckard, Harrison Ford,
Who helps him and punches him out.

This is just as good a film is the first one,
And I’ll reflect that in my score.
Ryan Gosling does an exceptional job,
And the visuals are stunning, for sure.

I’m giving this film a 5.6,
Just like the previous one.
It’s a mystery sci-fi thriller
Which will leave you spent when it’s done.
