Tango & Cash

Meet Sylvester Stallone as Ray Tango.

This is Part 1 of my ongoing reviews of movies featuring Sylvester Stallone Getting Framed and Sent To Prison.

Tango & Cash

Directed by Andrey Konchalovskiy and Albert Magnoli
Starring Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russel, Teri Hatcher, Jack Palance, Brion James, James Hong

Rating: ******

Kurt Russell teams up with
Sylvester Stallone
In this fast-paced actioneer
You can see in your home.

Ray arrests Robert Z’Dar as Conan the Barbarian.

Stallone plays Ray Tango,
LA’s Number One cop.
Kurt plays Gabriel Cash,
The Number Two cop.

They’re framed for a murder
And go to jail at once,
By an evil drug kingpin
Played by Jack Palance.

Kurt Russel as Gabriel Cash.

While battling the inmates,
They soon become friends
But get a beating so brutal,
They might soon meet their end.

They’re tortured with plasma
Buy a goon named Requin,
Played by Brian James,
Whose boss leaves unseen.

Jack Palance as the big baddie.

When they’re rescued, which at most,
Is a temporary fix,
They are forced to escape
And prove their innocence.

Naturally, they now have to
Kill all of the bad guys,
From the week little henchman
To the much more tougher guys.

They get framed for a crime they didn’t commit.

I won’t spoil the finale
Which ends in a bang,
But I’ll mention it’s worthwhile,
If action’s your thang.

Kurt Russell plays the Costello
To Sly’s more serious Abbott.
They come up with one-liners
As if they’ve a bad habit.

Cash gets tortured in prison.

Harold Faltermeyer’s fine score
Pulls out all the stops.
It’s exciting and suspenseful,
Like the score of Beverly Hills Cop.

I’m giving this film
A five plus one
Because it was exciting,
Enjoyable and fun.
