The protectors of the ruins.

Brendan Fraser plays a soldier
Fighting in the French Foreign Legion.
They’re attacked on a site filled with ancient ruins
And the attackers massacre the Legion.

The attackers are an ancient order
Of very special warriors
Who for thousands of years have protected that site
To save this good world of ours.

You see, some very evil magic
Is contained within this place.
Several thousand years ago
A palace coup took place.

The Pharaoh was brutally murdered
By a man who loved his wife.
When the woman was confronted,
He backstabbed him with a knife.

As punishment for his treason,
He was mummified alive
And eaten by hungry scarabs
Who fed off him till he died,

Brendan Fraser, adventurer.

But his spirit and his body
Still reside within these ruins.
Bad things would be bound to happen
Were someone to find his tomb.

Brendan barely escapes with his life,
But is imprisoned later on.
An exceptionally pretty librarian
Saves him from being hung.

She’s searching for an ancient city
In Egypt. She’s quite certain
That Brendan Fraser has been there.
That might be why he’s hurtin’.

Brendan agrees to take her there
In exchange for his life.
They go on a grand old journey
That takes them many nights.

They’re not the only searchers,
For a team of Americans follow.
Who will get there first? Also,
In the ruins will there be a hollow?

The evil magic in that place
May well release The Mummy,
A rejuvenating, half-dead man
With scarabs in his tummy.

Rachel Weisz as the librarian.

He seeks to revive his long-dead lover,
And see her face again.
Will he ever get that chance,
Or will someone ruin his plan?

This movie was a good old film,
Amusing, exciting, suspenseful.
I highly recommend it.
I rate it a five. You’ll get your fill.
